Welcome to the full break down and rating for every single card in Eternity Code – A unique set where rare cards are lacking and the not-so-highly-anticipated-sneak didn’t happen. This doesn’t take into account any kind of price and we’re not going to post the effects.
We are here to help you quickly understand what’s good and what’s not so good in the set. Are we right or wrong? I guess we’ll find out if it ever gets released. Check it out:
Parallel eXceed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Need a Level 4 extender but still need a Target for Trade-In? This level 8, when special summoned will make itself Lv4 and Special a copy of itself from the deck giving access to the R4nk toolbox. Extender and Fodder… can’t go wrong picking up a set.
Codebreaker Zero Day ⭐️
Zero Use – This card is one of those cards that’s come from a one time use in the Vrains Anime by Cal to play around Playmakers Decode Talker. Has no real application
Salamangreat Zebroid X ⭐️⭐️
Personally, I don’t like this card, as it doesn’t help the main playstyle of its archetype, however, it is an excellent option if it’s in the grave when you get Nibiru’d, giving you access to the Rank 4 currently not released in TCG.
Gouki Iron Claw ⭐️⭐️
A battle hand trap for Gouki that doesn’t do much more than being another name for the combo.
Gouki Guts ⭐️
Despite not being destroyed by battle, this boi is pretty lacklustre, 200 ATK gain is garbage and needs to leave the field to gain its search. Unless your running “1 for 1”, don’t run it. Probs the worst card of this Set.
Marincess Basilalima ⭐️⭐️
In grave protection for your monsters is something that Marincess lacks and it grants you the ability to reload your traps. Could be played as a tech option in Marincess.
Noctovision Dragon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great card for Rank 7 Dragon plays but hindered to SS’ing itself when a dark dragon is summoned, more likely used to link into BLS Link, to draw a card.
Works amazing in the Rokket strategy and could give them a slight boost.
Archnemeses Protos ⭐️⭐️
Our first new archetype of the set, Nemesis revolves around banishing monsters with a variety of attributes and types. Protos offers non-targeting destruction to the field and a nice lingering Special Summon restriction. Look out for this card creeping in as a tech option into some decks that can run it.
Archnemeses Eschatos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
GOAT Players know the Strength of both BLS and Tribe Infecting Virus, this Boss is Both, on roids! TIV effect that also stops the same type of monster being summoned till the end of the following turn. Destruction card effect protection, BLS-like summoning condition all in a 3000 Body.
Nemeses Flag ⭐️⭐️⭐️
You can special summon this card from your hand by returning a banished monster to the deck. You can also, as a trigger effect, search for a Nemesebv s monster! This is the Stratos and starter of the deck. There’s also scope for this card to fit into banishing heavy strategies. Imagine this is SPYRALs.
Nemeses Umbrella ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great card at first glance, free special summon by returning a banished monster back to the Deck, ( Psy-Frame Omega plays anyone?) and on-field recursion from the GY. Great synergy in its archetype!
Nemeses Corridor ⭐️⭐️
The wind version of the Nemeses starter card. Is good for getting a body out on the field but needing a Nemeses in the banish zone is more useful on turns 3 forward so not the best.
Deep Sea Artisan ⭐️⭐️
Best Friend of Mermail Abysstruge and Mistar Boy, allowing their effects to get the scoop on you opponents hand. This card gives water decks an easy Link 2 play with One for One.
Deep Sea Sentry ⭐️⭐️
The banish effect is cute and good if you can hit a Nibiru or a Hand Trap but if you’re going second it’s not that great. The milling to recur a water monster back to your hand could come up but that could get in the way of (or assist) Moulinglacia plays. May the RNG be with you.
Crimson Resonator ⭐️⭐️
As expected this is a Dark/Fiend/Tuner. Scores low, because of its hideously unnecessary lock into Dark Synchro Dragons for the turn, despite having a Gilisaurus Like Special Summon effect.
Red Familiar ⭐️⭐️
This card does a couple of interesting things for the Red Dragon Turbo decks and could find use in other decks as a level modulating tech option. Better turn 3 than anything which limits its value.
Buzzsaw Shark ⭐️⭐️
Something for you long-suffering hark fans out there! Finally, a card that makes Sharks playable, being able to be a level 3,4 or 5 for the summon of a Water XYZ, however, does lock you into XYZ for the turn.
Lantern Shark ⭐️⭐️
If you summon anything but a level 4 with this you’re doing it wrong, (sans the new shark XYZ) there are a lot of better rank 4 options so not sure if this is useful in many water-based strategies. The XYZ restriction holds it back but it necessary for balance.
Ancient Warriors – Fearsome Zhang Yuan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3rd part of the dynasty has arrived, providing honest-like battle protection, by Special Summoning itself, negging opponents battling monster by 1000 ATK, allowing your monster to get the win, triggering its own target and destroy ability. This is a really good card.
Ancient Warriors – Ambitious Cao De ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cao De storms into the Ancient Warrior strategy with a few boss monster effects designed to disrupt and overwhelm your opponent. Gets an extra star for taking the deck up a little notch.
Ancient Warriors – Ingenious Zhuge Kong ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Exactly what this archetype needed! Using the in-archetype “Fire Formation-Tenki” searching this, allows its Special Summon. While on-field it boasts S/T Negate and if you control Ancient Warriors – Virtuous Liu Xuan a monster negate also. (1 each Per turn).
Ancient Warriors – Deceptive Jia Wen ⭐️⭐️
A little bit of recursion and synergy with the fire fist spells give Jia Wen a bit of power in the strategy but it’s a bit of a meme overall.
Thunder Dragonlord ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great support or a deck recently hit on the banned list. The Main Deck replacement for Colossus with a 3000 body, Able to give targeting protection to its buddies and an easy summoning condition that triggers other Thunder Dragon effects.
Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Probably the best card in the set – When this was released no one could quite believe the effect Konami decided to give this card. After limiting Armageddon Knight and Dark Grepher again because of Orcust, they decided to make an on theme one – and make it a 1 card Galatea at the same time? Look for Orcust to rampage again, at least for one format.
Harr, Generaider Boss of Storms⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With a Dark Law effect of discarding your opponents +1, on a tribute 2 monster omni-negate. This big Boss deck got another staple card, ready to 3 to in the deck, Great card with Awesome Artwork to boot.
Chamber Dragon Maid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Chamber Dragonmaid is a great starter for the deck and is part of the power it’s been lacking going forward. Great for the deck.
Unchained Twins – Sarama ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We already have twins… Is this the Triplet? Support this deck seriously needed. Being able “Re-Set” Spent cards from the GY, to immediately Pop to SS or Search is bonkers. Recursion helps with Advantage and Grind, which I feel the Deck was lacking.
Loptr, Shadow of the Generaider Bosses ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loptr cruises into the Generaider strategy giving it a normal summon and another way to start. Helps tremendously if you need to go first but is also great in other strategies that tech in Generaiders for spice.
Gizmek Uka, the Festive Fox of Fecundity ⭐️⭐️
With only 4 cards in the archetype, not much to say here, other than the Trickstar level burn damage, and can summon a second Gizmek from the deck.
Beast Deity King Barbaros ⭐️⭐️
I’m a fan of these rebirth decks where Konami takes an old monster and creates a strategy. They don’t often come off and this is no different, the art is amazing though. Oddly enough, they’re not as good as the original King Barbaros was when he was released.
Cataclysmic Circumpolar Chilblainia⭐️
I don’t have much to say about this card, other than being (probably) the best cataclysmic monster to date. Definitely helps the Mermail hand loop strategy.
Trias Hierachia ⭐️⭐️
I’m struggling to find a way to play this in counter fairy, it looks like a Parshath card but it doesn’t quite fit the strategies. Could find some niche play in a fairy heavy deck such as Madolche but then it’s just a body in the way.
Malice, Lady of Lament ⭐️⭐️
Whoo Boy! Lilith has a sister equally as badass as her. Combined with Lair of Darkness this monster can rid your opponent of monster and reset trap cards from Banished or Graveyard, recycling card banished by Trap Trick or Looping Trap Trick itself turn after turn.
Union Driver ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This card has an extra star for it’s potential, it’s a shame that ABC Buster Dragon was Limited otherwise this would be higher up the list.
Animadorned Archosaur ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dino players rejoice! The long-awaited Evo Pill searcher is here, to turbo up this already menacing deck. An easily searchable & summon-able extender what more could you ask for? Could we see another 3 Animadorned to come?
Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally, the wind girl graces us with he chilly presence. It’s an interesting card that could see play inside decks for going into game 3 for restricting link summons. You can negate a summon and then force them to not link summon or face losing in time to burn damage. It’s not very consistent and it won’t come up often enough to be useful. The negate is cute though I guess.
Magical Hound⭐️⭐️
Getting cucked by Skill Drain, Anti-spell or Secret Village? This awesome replacement for Glow-up Bulb has your plays intact. The downside is that it needs setup and requires you to go second.
Goldilocks the Battle Landscaper ⭐️
I don’t see too many good memes with this card, could be interesting in rank 10 trains but that’s about it.
Dragonmaid Sheou ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Big Boy Fusion for Dragonmaid (obviously) with the power to summon a LV 9 or Lower Dragonmaid from your hand or GY during the Standby Phase. Also a Gladiator-Beast reminiscent negate the effect that shuffles itself away into its house maiden counterpart.
Invoked Augoeides ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A good addition to the Invoked strategy, doesn’t really boost the Shaddoll variant and may struggle to make much impact going forward.
Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A new Generic LV9 water Synchro, Can this replace Trishula? Is it Mukamuka SSJ2? Could do, fits right at home in any Synchro deck that can make it, Great draw effect on summoning that facilitates its second effect to Discard and Pop.
Deep Sea Princess Prima Donna ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Prima Donna fits into the Deep Sea archetype all nice and gives a unique disruption that could come in useful if there’s a meta deck that revolves around the banish pile but other than that it’s just a nice looking mermaid card.
Traptrix Allomerus ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rafflesia’s big sister boasts formidable force for the Traptrix, featuring recursion from the GY or a nice Snatch Steal effect from opponents GY, this could push Traptrix up a tier or 2.
Valiant Shark Lancer ⭐️⭐️
A strong water XYZ to add to your arsenal – it’s an interesting tech choice but you’ll need to be able to pump out more XYZ to take full advantage.
Proxy F Magician ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fusion Substitute on legs, where Verte Anaconda is a better finishing play, this card is focused on link climbing.
Accesscode Talker ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A powerful addition to the Code Talker strategy, giving a boost to the interruption and attack power as well as opening up zones for U-Link boards. Its non-targeting destruction can’t be responded too and if you can load up the grave with different attributes you can clear out the board, not once per turn!
Linkross⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Linking Down? you might ask, Maybe you need some extra bodies on the Field to Synchro with.
Splash Mage ⭐️⭐️
The water variant of the various link wizards, the splash mage has some interesting arrows and a nice recursion effect to keep your link climb game going. There’s probably not much room in a Cyberse deck for it to fit in the extra.
Codebreaker Virus Berserker ⭐️⭐️
Knightmare Phoenix on Steroids, Summoning back up to 2 of its materials, on Summon, this beast can also Pop S&T up to the number of Linked “Codebreaker” all wrapped up into a 2800 beat stick. Too bad it’s stuck in the Codebreaker Archetype.
The Arrival Cyberse @ignister ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Link-6 is here. This card has a nice – unaffected by card effects – protection backed up with a destruction effect. If you can climb into this bad boy you should be able to finish most games with your @ignister deck
Gouki The Powerload Ogre ⭐️⭐️⭐️
While requiring Warrior monsters as Materials, this won’t find its home in many decks, however, in Gouki this is a powerhouse! While Link Summoned its unaffected by other card effects, then can tribute a Gouki link monster to pop cards equal to the Link Value.
Codebreaker Virus Swordsman ⭐️
I struggle to see how you can easily co-link this and have an arrow open to best use it – you’d need to already have a link 2 out with a bottom-centre arrow and a bottom left, such as Cyberse Wikkid – at that point, you’re making your 5th summon (at least) and not really going anywhere.
Eria the Water Charmer, Gentle ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Water Charmer Link, Nuff Said…
Marincess Great Bubble Reef ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I actually think this card has great potential in the deck if you get to turn 3 – tech anything in your graveyard back onto the field – with some good arrows. Turn 3 doesn’t really exist tho so.
Burning Draw ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Konami: Who needs Pot of Greed?
Salad: Salamangreats do!
Konami: Tell you what, here’s what we gonna do….
Incredible Salad Support. Always treated as a Salad Card, can draw up to 5 cards, at the restriction that you are stuck with fire monsters for the turn. This needs to be Limited.
A.I. Contact ⭐️
This card does nothing for the deck and nothing for the game.
Stairs of Mail⭐️⭐️
An oddly worded tindangle Book Of Moon and Book Of Taiyou in one.
Helps the Tindangles, but they could have used something a lot different…. Maybe an archetype redesign…?
Link Burst ⭐️
It’s a bit of a neg that doesn’t really do much unless you’re running Unchained and have a link 1 on the field that’s in the way.
Deep Sea Aria⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
RotA for Sea Serpents, because Mermails needed yet another turbo Diva/Prince card. Solid support for you Mermaids and Mermen alike.
Nemeses Adrastea ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A strong reborn card for Nemeses that has a strange but understandable restriction on it- best used in the battle phase for protection or end phase so you can use the big boy effects later. Great to get the little ones out from the banish zone too.
Torpedo Takedown⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m starting to believe this Set is going to Flood the TCG… Massive burn damage potential, 400 dealt with your opponent for every card in your hand. While making your water XYZ monster gain an equal amount of ATK, and once spent, can banish itself and the Water XYZ from the GY to draw 2.
Resonator Command ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve always thought, and said, any deck that can get an on theme ROTA is better off and that’s true here. Getting resonators into the grave is super handy, the only downside is you have to draw this card and a resonator.
Void Apocalypse⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
At the cost of discarding a card, you can dump a “Noid” of your choice, or send it from the field to the GY to dump as many “Noids” as you opponent controls Extra Deck Summoned Monsters. Very good Infernoid Support.
Madolche Salon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yeah, this card is amazing for Madoche. It gives you another normal summon which is so, so important to the deck and it allows you to search/set another Madolche spell or trap from the deck. This is great because it means you don’t put yourself back by searching for Salon to extend. Exactly what the deck needed for going first or second.
Witchcrafter Unveiling ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quick-Play, Special Summon a Witchcrafter from your hand for free and have Spell Speed 4 protection for all your Spellcaster monsters for the rest of the Turn… Yes Please. Then during the End Phase of the next turn, add it back to your hand. Excellent support. If they could get on-theme negation spell we might have the next Altergeist/Guru deck.
Ancient Warriors Saga – Borrowing of Arrows⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Themed Shrink for these old timers, borrowing your opponent’s ATK for the Turn. With a cheeky self-replacing effect if your field meets the requirements, when destroyed.
Heavy Forward ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another ROTA for a deck that needed it. This gives a lowkey boost to other machine decks such as Cyber Dragon if you’re playing the Rank 9 version.
Fusion Deployment⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This Card is A-Grade, E-Tele for that not easily searchable Maryokutai or the Edge Imp Sabres, you need to get your Fluffal plays rolling, can’t forget those old E-Hero Fusions…
Evil Eye Reemergence ⭐️⭐️
A good Foolish Burial Goods target, Evil Eye Reemergence is an average starter card for the deck too not sure where it stands within the strategy but time and creative deckbuilding will tell.
A.I.Q⭐️
I don’t know what to say about this… @Ignister’s Emptiness, for Link Summons after the first per turn. Knightmare Phoenix can out this and you can continue with your plays….
Megalith Unformed ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The card Megalith has been waiting for, this takes the meme deck up to something that actually well, does something, it’s a classic example of a half baked deck. I wouldn’t be surprised if future support pushes this forward even if it’s non-direct support. RIP Block Dragon.
XYZ Revive Splash⭐️⭐️
Monster Reborn for Rank 4 or lower XYZ, while changing it to a Water Attribute, then during you opponents turn ranking it up 1 by banishing this from the GY. It’s meh but has use in the Shark deck that’s not quite sure what it is
Flourishing Frolic ⭐️
Trash, way too reliant on RNG and doesn’t give Sylvans enough of a boost – you don’t run traps in sylvans or Adamacipator so what’s the point.
Witchcrafter Patronus ⭐️⭐️⭐️
With the awesome comes the, not quite so awesome.
Being able to shuffle a dead or banished Spellcaster to the deck for a search and following up with adding all your banished Witchcrafter spell cards to your hand. Maybe it’s not as bad as I initially thought…
Red Reign ⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you can pull this off in a red deck it’s probably game, especially if you can get rid of a lot of resources. It negates bait though so make sure you play through some aforementioned negates.
Titanocider ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another Lost Wind, this time in Secret Rare and makes your opponents monsters ATK 0 in place of Half. Throw out your Lost Wind’s and replace ‘em with this direct upgrade!
Madolche Promenade ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Part 2 of the Madolche Support – Finally a negate that’s searchable and it’s almost the only thing we needed to become a going first deck. Set this up with a teacher and not many decks will be able to play through you to get enough of a board to protect them from Tiaramisu. I’m excited for the next 3 support cards that would’ve been in the structure deck if it won.
Rose Girl⭐️⭐️⭐️
Forgetting Valentine’s Day must have been on this card designer’s mind a cute Lv3 Plant Tuner monster that can keep recurring every turn. so you never go without again.
Gravediggers Trap Hole ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A strong, strong addition to the Traptrix archetype – adding a negate along with all the other summon stopping options. Look for Traptrix to start moving into the Altergeist and Subterror slots in the early meta.
Taotie Dragon⭐️⭐️⭐️
Should be called: ‘NO!’ Dragon. Despite needing 2+ Monsters SS’d from the Extra deck. I don’t see this card getting much play. A 2500 ATK Armades under the right circumstances isn’t bad. It’s just easier to make Armades
Pinpoint Dash ⭐️
A fun little mirror match card, useless unless you know the majority of what your opponent is playing and can poker face them. Surprised this didn’t occupy the bad secret spot to go with its step-sister Pinpoint Landing.
Bluebeard, the Plunder Patroll Shipwright ⭐️⭐️
A LV 4 Extender with a small cycle effect for the TCG exclusive Archetype, definitely helping the deck become playable, but its no B.A. all round its a great card for the Plunder Patroll. Glad he’s called Bluebeard and not anything else…
Scrypton ⭐️⭐️
A very strong Cyberse extender that can help you climb up into more link plays, not the best because it doesn’t start your plays but is useful in Code Talkers for sure.
Plunder Patrollship Lys ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great Sarporrrt for ye Scallywags. A Brand new Ship wit’ er monster negate effect, only costs 2 matey’s to set her a sail, and if she’s carrying a Stowaway can replace the matey discarded for er effect. Just what we needed me heartys!
Necroquip prism ⭐️⭐️
This is the kind of card that will see play in lockdown decks with Buster Whelp or other equip monsters that can make it hard for your opponent to play. Deliciously average otherwise.
Emblem of the Plunder Patroll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A neat Archetype Equip for the Pirates, 500 ATK boost with targeting protection. Secondary effect allows you to cheese out an Extra Deck Monster and equip the originally equipped monster to it, so its effects are live, and still retaining the 500 ATK buff. Equip.
Goldenhair, the Newest Plunder Patroll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Goldielocks joins the Patroll! has a great effect to help get more monsters out on the field. Locks you into pirates but you should be running mostly them anyway.
Plunder Patroll Parrrty ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mulligan + 1 for the bad hand equal to the amount of equips you currently control. Would have been better as a Spell Card, however, it does share the GY recursion when a Plunder Monster is SS’d from the Extra Deck equipping itself giving a 500 ATK boost.
Plunder Patroll Shipshape Ships Shipping ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wish this card was a fusion card, but I can see why it isn’t sending it with anaconda would be too good. It’s in grave effect is almost as good as its card name.
Rain Buzo ⭐️⭐️
This cute little ghost is an odd one. Placed as a Scale, you can target 1 monster you control and it gains 100 ATK for the difference in cards between the Extra Decks (this counts face-ups too) and While as a monster gains 200 ATK or Defence with the same clause. Great against Domain Monarchs or anything without an extra deck.
Pride of the Plunder Patroll ⭐️
Meh, traps are too slow and this card suffers from it’s pink. I’m not convinced going first is the best way to play Plunder Patroll, if it is then this is ok disruption but let’s be honest if they’ve got anything worth taking out of their hand they’d use it against you in turn 1.
Armoured Bitron ⭐️⭐️
A Cyberse locking Unexpected Dai, that tributes itself for cost, facilitating its second effect to SS itself when your Link 3 or higher monster is destroyed but is banished when it leaves the field. I don’t think this card does that much for the Link Spam Decks but hey its finally here.
Superheavy Samurai Wagon ⭐️⭐️
An interesting little searcher for the Superheavy deck, turning it to attack mode isn’t the worst thing as you should be synchro-summoning with it not too much later. All decks benefit from Stratos-like effects so this is a welcome addition.
Superheavy Samurai Swordmaster Musashi⭐️⭐️
Being the Lightest of the Super Heavy Samurai Synchros, this card is not that good, it has all the Qualities of the Super Heavy Samurai (being able to ATK using its Defense Points) but a GY recursion effect, I don’t think is what the archetype needed maybe a card akin to Burning Draw but as a monster.
Performapal Turn Trooper ⭐️
This card takes a little bit too much effort to get up and running and then it does nothing much from there.
Gussari @Ignister ⭐️⭐️⭐️
And here it is, the perfect target in the @ignister deck to send to the grave with Bururu. The sword is here to take you up a level.
Gatchiri @Ignister ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Incredible protection for all your Cyberse Monsters, and a great Special Summon effect, just have to negate one of your Cyberse effects to get this big boy out. If this card is sent to the GY from the field it can add one Towers like protection to one monster you control till the end of your opponents turn.
Machina Metalcruncher ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A great starter for the Machina deck comes at a perfect time to line up with the new structure deck and doesn’t eat your normal summon.
Effect Veiler ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think the Ulti is still the best but you can’t argue with the price point. A marvellous addition to the Main sets if they keep this up, what’s next? Maxx C?
Conclusion
Let us know if you think we’ve got some card ratings wrong and any spicey ways you could use some of the cards that we didn’t quite hit the mark on.
