Friday 11 September, the new Forbidden and Limited list was released. We discuss and rate the changes for the upcoming format.

Forbidden and/or Banned – 0 Copies per deck.
Block Dragon (5/5 Required hit!)
The Keystone card for Adamancipators. Being able to add up to 3 Rock type monsters from your deck, allowing resources and repeatability of combos makes me ask why this card hasn’t been blocked sooner.
Jet Synchron and Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion (3/5 each)
Friday was not the day to be an aircraft. If Crystron Halqifibrax was to survive these twins had to go.
Jet Synchron was a 1 (and a half) card way to Halq which in turn could summon O-Lion resulting in some nasty synchro summoning shenanigans.
2007 was right when it cried out that “Synchro Summoning ruined Yu-Gi-Oh!”. Why stop at Jet Synchron, when we could just ban all tuners?
Zexal was the better season anyway.

Limited – 1 Copy per deck.
Double Iris Magician (4/5)
Feels odd to say Pendulums need some help, and Double Iris is just the card they need. Not absurdly broken like Astrograph Sorcerer, but gives them a good high scale and adds searchability to one of the best archetype traps in the game in Time Pendulumgraph.
The Phantom Knights of Rusty Bardiche (2/5)
Phantom Rage Launch Date: 6 November 2020.
Called by the Grave (0/5)
This is the biggest question mark of the entire list. An easily accessible card to help against the slew of hand traps in the current format.
Some duelists say this hit heralds the incoming TCG release of Crossout Designator, but did you know Phantom Rage contains 17 World Premiere cards, the most ever in a single booster set?
Harpie’s Feather Duster (4/5)
Always welcome any generic good card that makes going second easier. Especially one as iconic as Harpie’s Feather Duster.
Give us a cheap accessible reprint (Last reprint was 2013) and this would be a 5/5.

Semi-Limited – 2 Copies per deck
Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss, Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss, ABC-Dragon Buster, and Toadally Awesome.
“Welcome to 2020 gentlemen” the kindly elevator operator exclaims.
“This is the tier elevator, and it only goes up for you.”
5/5 for all.

Unlimited – 3 Copies per deck
Makyura the Destructor
The new errata makes it near unplayable in modern Yu-Gi-Oh!
Tour Guide From the Underworld
Beatrice move over, Dante has a new love.
Evigishki Gustkraken
Does this make Giski Hand-loop a thing again? New time rules say no.
Pantheism of the Monarchs
Good.
Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor
Literally changes nothing for Sky Striker.
Overall
A good list with a couple of weird choices. But definitely more impactful than the June ban list. Yes, you forgot there was one, didn’t you?
